Micro-focused ultrasound —
what it actually does to your skin.
Ultraformer MPT (by Classys) is not a surface treatment. It delivers focused ultrasound energy at precise depths beneath the skin — bypassing the surface entirely and creating controlled thermal injury at the target layer, which stimulates the body's natural collagen production response.
Unlike laser or radiofrequency treatments, Ultraformer MPT delivers energy below the skin surface without heating or damaging the outer layers. This means no open wounds, no peeling, and minimal visible recovery.
At each shot position, the energy creates a micro-thermal zone at the target depth — 1.5mm (superficial dermis), 3mm (deep dermis), or 4.5mm (SMAS layer). The SMAS is the same fibromuscular layer addressed in surgical facelifts.
The controlled injury signals the body to produce new collagen and elastin. This process takes weeks to months — which is why results are gradual rather than immediate. The collagen produced is new, structurally sound, and functions as genuine skin tightening.
First visible tightening appears at 4–6 weeks. Peak results at 3 months. Results hold for 12–18 months before gradual natural ageing resumes. A maintenance session at 12 months sustains the result.
Which areas respond best
to Ultraformer MPT skin tightening.
Not all skin laxity responds equally to Ultraformer MPT. The treatment performs best on mild to moderate laxity in areas where the SMAS layer can be effectively targeted. Here is what the evidence and clinical experience shows.
Ideal candidates —
and who may see limited results.
Ultraformer MPT vs
surgical skin tightening.
Ultraformer MPT and surgical facelifts both target the SMAS layer — but through fundamentally different mechanisms, with different result profiles and recovery requirements.
For clients with mild to moderate laxity who want meaningful improvement without surgery, Ultraformer MPT is clinically appropriate and well-evidenced. For significant laxity, a surgical consultation alongside Ultraformer MPT may be worthwhile to understand the full range of options.
